STREET STYLE - ME AND ADRIAN

FANTASTIC FRIDAY

THIS AFTERNOON ADRIAN AND I HAD AN IMPROMPTU PERFECT DAY. THANK YOU SUMMER, THANK YOU BROOKLYN, THANK YOU IRREGULAR WORK SCHEDULE. WE STARTED WITH A LUNCH IN THE PARK ON CLINTON STREET - HUMMUS, BABAGANOUSH, PITA, GRAPE LEAVES, PICKLED CABBAGE SALAD, FALAFEL, AND AVOCADO WHICH I PICKED UP AT DAMASCUS ON ATLANTIC AVENUE. THERE WERE ABOUT TEN BILLION BABIES IN THE PARK. I EAVESDROPPED ON SOME OF THEIR CONVERSATIONS WITH EACH OTHER WERE BORING. SO WE GOT OUTTA THERE AND WALKED UP COLUMBIA STREET BY THE WATER TOWARD MECCA (AKA RED HOOK). THIS PARK OF BROOKLYN IS THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH. WE EVEN STUMBLED UPON A LITTLE SHOP WITH BEAUTIFUL LINGERIE FROM FRANCE MADE FOR EUROPEAN-SIZED BOOBS (AKA TEENY-TINY). THE WOMAN IN THE SHOP GAVE US EACH A GLASS OF CHILLED RED WINE (SO SO FRANCAIS). I BOUGHT ENOUGH BRAS AND UNDERWEAR THAT SHE COULDN'T SAY THE TOTAL OUT LOUD BUT JUST POINTED TO THE PAPER. NOT GOOD. WE KEPT WALKING AND FOUND A BEAUTIFUL COMMUNITY GARDEN AND A FLOWER NURSERY. THERE WAS A FAT CAT AT THE NURSERY THAT I MADE ADRIAN TAKE A PICTURE OF ME WITH BECAUSE I LOOKED FAT IN ALL THE OTHER PICTURES. LOW AND BEHOLD I LOOK PRETTY THIN NEXT TO THE FAT CAT. WHAT A DAY, WHAT A PERFECT DAY!!!

HE-HAW

AH! I'VE BEEN THINKING HOW MUCH I'D LOVE TO GO ON A ROAD TRIP TO TEXAS OR SOMETHING AND WEAR A COWBOY HAT AT A RODEO, AND THEN BAM!! HERE'S THIS EDITORIAL FROM SELF SERVICE 2008. WHY AM I SO TRASHY? I SEE A FRINGED JACKET AND A REST STOP AND I'M ALL OVER IT. I THINK IT'S MY TALENT FOR ROMANTICIZING THE UNROMANTIC THAT HAS GOTTEN ME WHERE I AM TODAY. EH. SO WHAT, WHO CARES. DOESN'T LARA STONE LOOK LIKE FAYE DUNAWAY IN THESE? MAKES ME WANT TO WATCH LITTLE BIG MAN. AND BUY A LEOTARD WITH AN AMERICAN FLAG ON IT.

HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH

YESTERDAY MORNING I WENT TO THE BROOKLYN FLEA, WHICH WAS AT ITS OUTSIDE LOCATION IN FORT GREENE FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS SUMMER. IF THERE IS A PLACE IN THE WORLD THAT MAKES ME HAPPIER (BESIDES RED HOOK), I DON'T KNOW WHERE IT IS. IF I EVER MAKE IT TO HEAVEN, IT WILL BE A BIG OL' OUTDOOR FLEA MARKET IN THE SUMMERTIME. I BOUGHT A PAIR OF JEAN SHORTS FOR $5 AND ALSO A REALLY BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE DRESS FOR $5 TOO. I ALMOST BOUGHT A BLACK LEATHER SKIRT FOR $10, BUT DECIDED I HAVE ENOUGH LEATHER FOR NOW. I KNOW, PULL YOURSELF BACK ON YOUR CHAIR THE WORLD IS STILL SPINNING BELIEVE IT OR NOT. I ALWAYS FORGET HOW AMAZING ALL THE FOOD VENDORS ARE AT THE FLEA - LOBSTER ROLLS, PULLED PORK SANDWICHES, FRESH POPSICLES, TACOS, PUPUSAS, PASTRIES - AND EAT BEFORE I GET THERE. FAIL. AND THIS TIME THEY ACTUALLY HAD A LOX AND BAGEL VENDOR. LUCKILY I HAD ALREADY EATEN LOX THAT DAY. WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME AND THE LOX LATELY? IT'S LIKE AN SICKNESS. ANYWAY, I FUN TIME WAS HAD BY ALL (ME), AND HERE ARE THE PICTURES TO PROVE IT.
